What’s a controversial age gap you approve?
IDK, in Germany, when one is over 16, the age of the adult doesn't matter, when the adult is not in a power abusing position. From 14-15 the adult has to be under 21. But even over 21 is often practical legal. So 14 and 40 can be legal, but I would say no to this. I don't like the additional clause: "he makes himself liable to prosecution if he exploits the victim's lack of ability for sexual self-determination". For over 21 it should generally illegal to go for under 16. 14 and 21 is the most controversial constellation allowed by the law, which I would approve for my theoretical daughter. With 16 and 17 the guy can be older by law, but should not be over 25 (16) or 30(17). And when she is over 18, she is fully adult and do whatever she wants.
I don't think that massive age gap is good for the relationship, at least when the older one is age-fixated- When you see only the beauty of youth and not the person, you will get bored when this youth is gone. What will happpen fast.
