The following isn't the only reason for sure. Unattractive males will always be considered a joke to others.
But if there is one thing that doesn't help with this, it is how unattractive males are too quick to not only use self deprecating humor, but try to question and mock any unattractive male that isn't trying to be a joke and takes themselves seriously.
This can be seen on this site with how users here talk about BlkPillPres.
It sounds cliche but it's true. If you can't even respect people like you who do not want to be used for the amusement of others, how can you even possibly convince others to show people like you respect and not make you out to be a joke?
As Gandhi said, be the change you want to see in this world.
