Lewellyn appeared in court wearing an orange jumpsuit and bullet-resistant vest. He did not speak as authorities escorted him into the building.

Is it standard practice for the Arkansas state police to escort murder suspects to court hearings in body armour? Or do they simply suspect that a crazed white knight would try to do something stupid?

I seriously doubt that if a low SMV male was killed that there would be a news crew, a search party, and a suspect showing up to court in a vest. This story confirms what we all know: that young white femoids (and other high SMV individuals in general) get disproportionately more news coverage when something happens to them.

This is interesting now I think of it.
I can recall countless cases where a foid, or even young girl, goes missing, or is killed etc, and the media coverage is insane.

I can't think of ANY male examples, and as men are less likely to victims of crimes of aggression, the probability is lower, but not zero.

The only time I can remember men being in the news for this, is a few occasions when a chad died of a drug OD in a nightclub, or fooling around at a house party/pool/ hotel, and all the parents, teachers, foids say what a good guy he was and how taking drugs / getting drunk was so out of character, someone must have led him astray or some shit.

It's standard for cases where young white females, children or many victims get killed in an especially brutal manner, so that there is the justified fear for the life of the offender. It can also be seen in countries with far less guns. In Europe many infamous serial killers/rapists like Fourniret/Dutroux were transported in such a manner, also one-time offenders are transported like that if their case is extremely famous. The case also reminds me of Sean Vincent Gillis, who killed one of his victims in that manner.
