In most cases, finding any shred of happiness can lead to complacent contentment.
Telling people to hate what they are given in the here and now at least creates the huge urgency to be perfectionist. But telling people to find positivity , or be positive will severely reduce their motivation to change the situation because being content is always on the table. Whereas with hatred being content is never on the table, and the situation is always going to be bad so long as the situation stays the same.
For example, most girls are pressured to lose weight only after they hate their fat. If they are told to be positive then they will always find a way to be pleased with their current circumstances. To find positivity. But if you keep looming the negatives over their head then they will continuously try to destroy the negative until they meet happiness. Telling ppl to be positive just leaves them more room to be happy.
Positive reinforcement (too much) can make you still very connected to everything of instant gratification if you feel all is positive/ laidback.
Negative reinforcement, if extreme, and doesn't result in anxiety, can make you angry/ disgusted with current problems to the point of you having to fix it or to be swarmed with negativity (which is good)
