What about a monitor? I haven't had a TV for years. I just use 1080p 60Hz LCD monitors. Most of mine I got used too.

I have an old ass CRT VCR-combo TV that I got at a Goodwill for $15, and I only watch VHS videos on it or play some of my old consoles on it. Pretty sure you can live without a TV, but you can find a CRT at a Goodwill or a thrift store for cheap (with RCA A/V outputs, will let you be able to play PS4 and stuff) and get a digital analog converter and you'll be fine.
Less screentime is better
