What actual entitlements do gay people have? Pride Month? The GLAAD Awards? Women have actual, literal entitlements. Movements with money behind them to raise up women just for being women. Get them in to business. Into STEM. Into politics. Why? Because these fields need good women. Not good people, good women. No one's trying to get gay people anywhere, except into our movies and cartoons.
Elizabeth Warren. She flat out used her feminine identity to lie on one of the realest G's in American political history, but instead of calling her out on it, the Colberts and Seth Meyerses did their best to either ignore it, or find a way to be on Warren's side while not outright calling Bernie a misogynist. Because we gotta #BelieveWomen. Decades of Bernie walking the lefty walk, available on recorded footage, he took hoses to the face for civil rights in the 60s, was a Commie in the 80s, and specifically said he believed a woman could be President and he's on camera saying this, but people are like "Fuck that because Elizabeth Warren has one flimsy claim."
Then take Mayor Pete. Gay man. You'd think all things square and equal in Democrat Land people would be like "Oh boy, first gay President." But they're not. Not like with Warren. No, with Pete, we gotta look past his identity. No identity politics for him. He had rich people wine in a rich people cave, so fuck him too.
