You don't understand natural selection and how it applies today. Yes, in centuries past you would have been correct, and typically above average men would have gathered more resources (money) and therefore wives and children. Some of the smartest men would have still maybe had issues, but if they had money, they would have been a catch- or even if they were in a good, above average university at the time. In general the most intelligent or slightly charismatic chad-lite would have reproduced.
But today we are a victim of our own success. We have an excess of resources such as food, shelter, etc. And thanks to the Jews, foids can vote and have sexual freedom, shame has been removed, therefore now they can fuck Chads and have their offspring easier. And this is the part that we start regressing when it comes to human intelligence overall- it will take time. I'd say around early 1900s was the turning point.
