Still Life
In 1973, the whole country was gripped by the tragic story of John McClamrock, a high school football player paralyzed during a violent tackle. But after the newspapers moved on, another story was quietly unfolding, one of courage, perseverance, and a mother’s fierce love.
Mozilla Pocket is usually a parade of orange man bad, black lives matter, corona-chan hysteria articles, but occasionally they deliver a heartwarming story like the above.
The guy in the article, John McClamrock, was a 17 year old uberchad football player who had women falling all over him to the point where they had trouble breathing in his presence. However it all ended one day while playing football, when he rams his head into the leg of one of the opposing players and shatters his own spine. The damage is so bad he can’t even lift his head much less move his arms or legs. He spends the next 34 years lying in bed as a quadriplegic while his aging mother spoonfeeds him and wipes his ass every day.
...and yet. AND FUCKING YET. In his moribund state the guy still had slightly more SMV than the average incel. At the time of his 20 year high school reunion, some of his old classmates including some roasties visit his house and marvel at how youthful and handsome he still looks (face > all confirmed). One of them, a single mom who got pumped and dumped shortly after high school, goes so far as to “date” him, showing up monthly in nice dresses and makeup and having cocktails with him, even though they can’t have sex. He does get a kiss on the cheek though.
Eventually his wasted body gives out and he succumbs to infection. He dies a virgin at the age of 51, having never fucked.
