Only way is to be a well researched debater more or less — you have to be capable of recognizing when your opponent makes a false claim then be capable of easily debunking it with valid studies/explaining that the study(s) demonstrated the opposite of the gaslighting lie.

If you do good they’ll turn to whataboutism and ad hominem attacks typically once they’ve lost or they’ll try to find some work around to deny the study your presenting — that’s part of why it’s a good thing if you can toss out more than one study that shows the same thing.

Eh, sometimes other people who are on the fence read the comments and come round. Alternatively if someone is shown the raw facts repeatedly and enough people show disapproval with their irrationality then eventually they might reconsider, it’s just very rare.
