I was rotting an incredible amount even as a kid/teen.

By 8th grade I got my first laptop and I was unable to sit in a chair for my PC, even if it was a very comfortable chair. Since 8th grade I've had my current position, where I lie in bed with my laptop next to me. It's much comfier, takes some adjustment at first and there are some compromises that you need your own personal "lifehacks" for, but it's so much better than sitting in a chair.

When I did go to uni in person, my back hurt after sitting in a chair for a few hours. Ohh man, wageslaving is going to suck for me not only for what I've mentioned in other threads, the mental torture, but also physically it's going to be hard to adjust after years of lying in bed for 16 hours a day (and then sleeping for 8).

I spend about 12 - 14 hours a day on my PC

I have 2 Monitors so I just dual screen, one with YouTube, other with .CO

This kind of how I sit in my chair.

I can't lay down and use a computer it's impossible for me as I don't lay on my back. And even if I did, I would not be able to see the computer. Meaning if I were in bed I would have to sit up or lay on my stomach, which isn't comfy either.
So in the end the only comfy way is to sit in a weird but very comfy position in my chair.

I used to spend around 10-12hrs a day when i was a teenager and in my early 20s, playing maplestory. Now i can't spend more than 6hrs or so in front of the PC or i'll go nuts. I have to get out in nature for 2-4 hrs even if the weather is shitty.

Big external monitor on a table monitor stand or put your Laptop on a cardboard veggie box from the supermarket. Chair should be well cushioned and an have an adjustable back. A cushion for your lower back could also help.

I think the problem for many rotter is, that sitting is actually an active activity, without properly developed back and belly muscles and a weak passive tonus it will always suck.

I used to it, and if I start rotting in bed, I think I'll fuck my brain even more, have to be uncomfortable.

I do 16 but my point is that I'm lying down in my bed, not in a chair, which sounds like hell for my back.

I use my laptop while laying in bed. Sitting in a chair for a few hours is pretty exhausting.

Wow dude that looks like hell for your back, don't you get back pain? This is how I lie on my bed with my laptop:

It still hurts my back at times because I spend so many hours, and it's hard to adjust the angle using pillows so my head is towards the laptop.

I usually do things with one hand on my keyboard and one on my mouse on the other side of me. However, when I type long posts on this forum I sort of lean over so both my hands are on my keyboard. When I have to do homework I actually have to put the laptop on my lap but I don't do that very often.

Nope. The chair is able to go back a bit. Almost 45 degrees so I'm practically sitting like that but at an angle like I'm kind of somewhat half laying down while actually sitting down.
Sometimes I'm sitting straight on while laying back. Sometimes I'm sitting and turned to the side so I'm kind of sit-laying down on my side and on the computer.
Seeing how my time is mixed between here, video games, art, youtube, and looking through mods on discord, and of course digital porn, I can't just use one hand. so in your position, I would need it on my stomach or lap while laying like that, which I think after a while would hurt my back more than how strange I sit in my chair.

Sitting is no problem, i'm used to it. The back of my chair broke and i can't afford a new one (bc Neet) and my spine kinda got used to it. I can sit upright for 8hrs +.

I do have muscular knee problems from all the years of sitting due to the tendons in my upper legs shortening. All the muscle tensions around my pelvis are completetly out of whack (anterior pelvic tilt) and i would need some physiotherapy and Fitness to bring them back to normal. they cramp up and i need to roll out the tension with a fascia roller from time to time. Normal walking is no problem tho, but i'm a lazy fuck.

there's a few things that help like sitting with your legs crossed under you or putting your feet up if you have a big enough desk

hell even boomers will use these positions when rotting at a PC, it's not even a nerd thing

Well for starters I have a spinny office chair with very good back support. Ever since the start of the quarantine, I sit on my PC for ~ 12-14 hours with breaks and have no issues.

Drink plenty, sit straight and there shouldn't be any issues. I couldn't work from my bed.

How big is your desk?

I have

2 144hz Monitors
and I'm considering getting a 3rd 1440p/144hz monitor but have zero space.

3 monitors sounds uncomfortable tbh, or maybe I'm just too mentally lazy. I prefer alt-tabbing tbh.

i put my legs on the table and put the keyboard on my knees and browse

my summed up time on the computer is around 14 hours a day

This is why i dont mind using a laptop. Yeah i dont get the best performance compared to a desktop rig, but i can seamlessly alternate between ldaring with youtube or a strategy game and playing a try hard FPS while sitting up

That kind of setup sounds terrible ngl

I haven't figured out a way to fix anterior pelvic tilt, winged scapula and other posture related problems that many framelets have. People claim there are exercises to fix it but I think that's only in the more minor cases. A lot of posture related problems are set in stone imo.

Your exposing your private parts on cam?

Computer chairs are a ticking time bomb for future back problems. Sitting in computer chairs for years and years fucked my spine up. Humans were really not evolved to be in an upright seating position. It's unnatural. The human body evolved to either be standing or laying down, not sitting like a fucking faggot on a PC chair. Now I use my laptop on the coffee table and sit on my couch, and curl up in what looks like an uncomfortable position. But what I've found is my spin aches and dislocations started to disappear because at least now my spine is always straight and there's no weight on it cause I rest my elbows on my knees which takes all my upper body weight off my back. And then I also lay down and use a tablet quite a lot. Maybe I'll get a standing desk soon.

Smart thinking, back problems are a nightmare second only to teeth problems.

I just sit in this old ass recliner with stains all over it. Shit is like 25 years old and I got it from my grandparent's house when grandpa died. Fuck I hate computer chairs and their gay "ergonomic" designs.

I probably sit for 7-8 hours then I take a nap for a few hours, eat something and get back in my chair. I generally sit back unless im really getting into a game I'm playing, then I'll sit up. Its why I mainly play passive ass jrpgs so I can click menus/talk while being lazy irl.

Not bad, nice lifestyle. Hope your back holds up mate.

I'm the oppisite personally. I find lying in bed using a laptop uncomfortable after a couple of hours, I need to constantly change position. I bought a recliner gaming chair and I find it better, fallen asleep in it a few times

It was strenous at the beginning but my Lower Back kinda improved. In a former wageslaving place (office surrounding), i had a meeting with an ergonomics Specialist once - He instructed me to unlock the Back of the seat and said that its healthier to sit upright from your own Muscles power instead of slouching and leaning into the back. I got used to it there, so when my chair broke it wasn't that hard. You also need the right desk height, i'm slouching a bit down bc my desk is ~10cm too low, but i'm looking into buying a new desk and chair combo in 2021.

Researched a bit into it some time ago - if you have no serious posture problems like e.G. scoliosis: Solving the Muscular Dysbalances in the leg - between the front (too short from sitting) and back side (too weak from not moving) and Spine (abs too weak / lower back muscles too tight) with matching stretches and strengthening. Plus In my case the overtension inflames the muscle endings near the knee, causing the pain.

Try go for walks and shit but yeah my back is so fucked you don't need to tell me about it. This is why I wish I was rich, I would have ergonomic everything and go for weekly massage therapy and have a good home gym to stay tip top shape

I googled recliner gaming chair and those do look comfy ngl.

I have a stand up desk that I’ll occasionally sit at if I don’t feel to well (like the past few days due to a stomach bug)

Thanks. It was worse a few years ago, i gymcelled from 2018 to the beginning of 2019, so i think there are still some muscular reserves.
Damn, sorry to hear you stopped gymcelling. As one of the biggest rotters and one of the laziest people on this forum I definitely understand the arduousness of gymcelling, can't be arsed to spend that much time and energy on something with such marginal visible progress. I do hope you find it in you to go back to it, don't turn into a lifeless creature like me.

Dude that sounds tough as hell, I wouldn't be able to do it. Though I can see the health benefits, good for you for having the discipline and willpower.

The widespread adoption of the chair, and especially in schools, was one of the greatest mistakes of Western civilization.

That's a great article. Fuck the Prussian education system altogether, wasted close to 2 decades of my life on a system that taught me fucking nothing and is designed to fucking torture you into being an obedient wageslave.

Easy.
But my spine is fucked up now and instead of it hurting to sit down for extended periods of time, it hurts my lower back to walk around. Being obese doesn't help.

Believe i was on the deep end, too. Was on the way to improve my body and get rid of the fat, but then i injured myself with a nasty leg/groin injury on a isometric machine (Osteitis pubis plus a inguinal hernia). i have to do an operation to fix that but i'm too busy with other medical things. :feelsrope:

Ohh wow, that is absolutely brutal. Trying to improve your health and you end up injuring yourself, life is cruel. I know medical issues are an absolute torment, I have several myself. Sometimes I think the actual process of going to the doctor and going through the hassle of treatment and dealing with the medical system is almost as bad as the medical problem itself. Maybe I'm just too agoraphobic, antisocial and lazy though.

Yeah, right now I have a hole in my mouth instead of more than half of a molar, so I'm definitely with you there in hating having a physical body.

They probably have good skeleton and muscles.
Like I've said before my lower back has been totally fucked since a couple years ago. I can't even sit 20 minutes in the chair without my back hurting. I went to physical therapy because life was becoming impossible. I'm doing exercises and hopefully I'll get my back back. But I'm not sure it will ever be fully fixed.

It really sucks for someone like me because PC is my ONLY cope. I was on PC all the time before but now I can only sit here briefly and have to take breaks every 10min. No gaming, no coding, nothing. Really envy people who have strong bodies.

I never had a laptop btw. They're more expensive, more fragile and have a short life. They're very handy tho for when you go somewhere but I can't afford both a laptop and a PC.

Brutal. My back problem was also triggered by the gym. I had a very unhealthy life style and bad genes but the gym was what pulled the last straw. I came home one day and it was so painful I couldn't even stand. And ever since that day I haven't been able to go back to my normal life.

Ohh mate, that's so sad, I hope you can recover after all. Too bad you can't afford a laptop right now, but I do suggest saving up for one if possible (though I understand if it's not). I lie in bed all the time, I even work in bed, I write essays in bed with my laptop. With a few pillows you can make adjust it just right for your spine. It takes a bit of practice to be able to lie in bed with your laptop like that, but I think in your position you have the proper motivation to try it.

Oh fuck man. Believe me, that shit i have is nothing against your struggle. :feelscry:

chronic insomnia i just lay down for 12hours so i could rest my eyes
during the day i spend 13hours on computer.
Rinse & repeat
