Kinda gay, I know, but imaginary maps can be fun. I drew the start of one.

I have 0 creativity ngl

I used to draw a bunch of imaginary maps in school during class ngl.

how do you draw one?
what are the guidelines so it looks natural?

I used to do that too as a teen

Well the map I drew just has coastlines for now. I haven't started on rivers or mountains or that kind of stuff. Coastlines obviously need to be irregular and never completely straight. If you're drawing rivers for example a river almost never crosses a large piece of land from one end to another, so don't do that, observe river systems around the world and see how to make a realistic one

also my map has faint political boundaries I put in before I even started on the physical geography. You probably shouldn't do this, but work the other way around. Have the rivers and other stuff drawn before political boundaries, that would probably be better

There's a lot of guides on the internet you can find about how to draw a realistic map. I don't know too much either, usually I have these vague images of maps I've always had in my head, now I've finally attempted to put it on paper

I used to do this ngl its kinda neat

Looks pretty killer I would definitely establish a widespread empire there

Top part gives me Scandinavian geography vibes, at least in a way. I'm imagining a northern cold place looking at it tbh.

The best part about making maps is you can choose whatever environment and then create elaborate histories about the areas you draw and create political maps, that's the fun part but usually the last step after the physical geography stuff is done with

Just cope by developing your own world and visiting it in your dreams theory

Is the earth of your imaginary map flat or a globe?

I relate to this so much. :feelskek:
It's unbelievable.

I like creating alternate nations and alternate history more than creating fantasy maps.
Designing flags and insignias is also fun.

draw your own empire there

Lol at least i'm honest and not a braindead larping as a gorilla
A retarded calling me braindead, how ironic.
