There is not a single legal document (and I've just viewed the docket on PACER) or online post that indicates that he ever identified with or associated himself with any incel community, but here we are.

As much as Redditors love to decry the incel community as shallow, it seems that the vast majority of online attacks against him are focused on his appearance, and his appearance alone has been the impetus for labeling him as an incel. It's actually slightly depressing considering that this guy is much more facially attractive than I am -- well, except for his haircut. That looks awful. That is actually an incredibly bad haircut. But I digress.

Let's just review some facts about this person, Alexander Treisman. So much of what is being reported stems from this detention order signed by a magistrate judge on October 6th, 2020. Though Mr. Treisman is currently being held on only three charges of possession of child pornography, the reasons why he is being denied pretrial release are numerous. Here are some of the highlights:

Islamic extremism

• An April 20, 2020 video taken by Defendant’s cell phone while driving by Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas with audio of a male voice saying “There it is. That’s it. That’s the one, that’s where they did it. Allah Akbar! Ah hah, nice.”;
• The search revealed, in addition to the items seen through the windows, approximately $509,000 of U.S. currency (believed to be Defendant’s inheritance), books (about survival, bomb making, improvised weapons and Islam)
• A video created on April 23, 2020 with Defendant’s cell phone at O’Hare International Airport with audio of a male voice suggesting that it would be “awesome” to hijack a plane and fly it into a building;

Political extremism

• An iFunny meme posted by Defendant on April 15, 2020 with the caption “should I kill joe biden?”;
• A timeline of internet searches conducted by Defendant between March and May 2020 seeking information about Joe Biden’s home address, state gun laws, rifle parts, and night vision goggles, along with actions taken by Defendant, including posting the abovementioned meme about killing Joe Biden, purchasing an AR-15 in New Hampshire, traveling to a Wendy’s within 4 miles of Joe Biden’s home, and writing a checklist note ending with “execute”
• Still images from video footage of the Christchurch, New Zealand mosque shooting that Defendant downloaded on March 21, 2020 and related internet searches

So, just to recap, there's actually far more evidence that Mr. Treisman was motivated by Islamic and/or political extremism than he was motivated by "inceldom" or "incel ideology", for which there is...none. There is literally no material that mentions Rodger or Minassian or foids or Chads or Stacies, or any other phrase or expression that is the exclusive domain of the incel lexicon. Believe me when I say that if there was, federal prosecutors would surely bring it up.

As someone who just wrote a thread here supporting Joe Biden a few days ago, I thought labelling Mr. Treisman as an "incel" was manifestly unfounded. I believe this only exposes the culture of hysteria and polarization that seem to plague Reddit communities -- CuckTears included.

At least in the UK they only release mugshots only after the suspect is found guilty in the court of law.

In burgerland they just release the mugshot as soon as the suspect is arrested. That's why people that get arrested that are later found innocent have to pay money and request that their record be expunged in order to avoid their mugshot being associated with them.
And there's no guarantee that private companies that host the mugshots will take them down even then.

It would but ironically enough with the mugshot issue police departments and mugshot hosting companies argue in favor of the current system. They say that the public has a right to know who has been arrested and that it's violating freedom of speech and expression to require them not to show those pictures until after the suspect has been deemed guilty.

That's where the idea that the constitution can only constrain abuse of power is called into question.
