I mean I get it, porn is degenerate, and kids shouldn't be using it. Ideally, adults shouldn't be using it, or at least they should use it sparingly.

But there's now this huge push from the right to ban porn. This is the same right that almost had its ass completely kicked off from mainstream social media platforms recently because liberals didn't like what they were saying. How can they demand that something they don't like be deplatformed, when they themselves were almost taken completely offline literally a few months ago?

It's like people never learn their lesson. You can't just regulate away speech you don't like, and expect speech that you do like to stay unaffected.

By all means, promote things like child safety apps and such, but don't demand that a vice be banned completely. That has never ended well in history and conservatives are idiots if they think it will end well this time.

What's interesting is how authoritarian impulses form the backbone of these types of movements. One foid right winger was literally arguing that the "order" of society was more important than freedom, and that's why we need to ban porn.
