Is there a reason we don’t have a rep system like Looksmaxx?

This is probably a retarded question, and one that’s been raised before, but I scrolled through and couldn’t find one so I figured I’d wing it.

Is there a reason we don’t have a system of “reps” or “likes” similar to the Looksmaxx forum? I feel like the ability to “like” or otherwise endorse a post would reduce the frequency with which people quote a post to agree with it. This might help streamline threads, especially ones in which one person has a good idea early on and people bump the thread infinitely quoting him for days.

Likewise I think it would encourage users to put more effort into their posts, especially ones that are OCD about maintaining good ratios (like I am).

Thank you for your time :feelsokman:

It's been asked before, but it's no problem.
We had a vote long ago and people decided against it. Votes encourage shitposting, because we like short, funny, stupid stuff, and avoid long, mature, elaborate text.

Ah, I hadn’t considered that. The last thing I’d want is to see this place devolve onto le reddit shitposterino
