I'm not saying that you're going to earn $500k a year, though. I'm saying your parents will. You may or may not get some of that $500k, but you will probably live in a nicer home, a safer town, receive better healthcare, and attend better schools than someone whose family makes 1/10th of that.

First of all, you've completely missed the point of the post. It's less about objects and more about the convenience associated with having a safer childhood and having a financial safety net -- you know, someone who can give you a quick loan if you run into trouble. That's why I said "parents earning $500k" instead of "you earning $500k".
Second, I don't get what your suggested alternative is. What would you rather worship instead? There's nothing morally wrong with coping with objects -- objects such as escorts, for example.
