Yes, I know there are words borrowed from the French language but they don't sound French at all. And the pronunciation is a lot different and that's what I dislike about the French language. Things like "oui, monsieur" etc sounds horrible to me. Notice my horror when people I hang out with listen to French rap. Not only that, but also Dutch rap. I don't necessarily dislike the Dutch language, but Dutch music is horrible. Same applies to French music.
And you're correct, Islam is not a race BUT - and this is a really big but - when people think of "Islamic person," people think of "brown person with long beard and a dress." Keyword here being the word "brown." And therefore it is definitely racist. If the majority of Islamic people were white, then nobody would have been against Islam as much as the Europeans, which includes Australians and American, are. Proof: most white people are Christian, however, Christianity, much like Islam, is a Middle Eastern religion. So, despite both being of Middle Eastern origin, one is hated because most adherents are brown and the other is loved because most adherents are white. That is why you will see that countries like South Korea and Japan are more inclined towards Christianity, because in their minds, it's "Christians are white," much like how in European minds, it's "Islamics are brown." And that is why islamophobes and racists are the same.
Your other point is that it's not ok to hate Islamic people but that it's ok to hate Islam - as the law states - however what non-Islamic people don't get is that Islam defines its adherents. For us, it's not a religion. It's a lifestyle. Everything we do and strive is according to Islamic principles and thought. We eat with our right hand, we enter the toilet with our left foot but we exit it with our right foot, we enter the mosque with the right foot and we exit it with our left foot. Those may seem like trivial things but there is a reasoning for that it's motivated by Islam. Therefore, if you insult Islam, you don't just insult a religion, you insult our entire existence; our way of life. So being against Islam is the same as being against its followers. We can't have one without the other. Think of it like killing a pregnant woman, you can't say you didn't murder the baby because you attacked the woman, because both the pregnant woman and unborn baby are one. They are not mutually exclusive. Without one, you can't have the other.
Something that a lot of people don't know is that the first islamophobes were ironically the Arabic pagans themselves when Islam was re-introduced to the world by the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). But still islamophobes will hate all Arabs despite not knowing they are siding with Arabs themselves, albeit the pagan ones.
You are right, not even Islamic people understand Islam. There are ignorant people in our own community as well and there was a famous ex-Islamic person on here who had memorized the Qur'an, yet with that amazing feature he still didn't understand Islam which I could tell from how he was speaking about Islam and trying to falsely explain Quranic verses.
Interesting, I didn't know there were private schools run by Islamic people. I didn't even think there were such schools over there. I myself attended a Catholic high school where the headscarf wasn't allowed but I wasn't practicing back then so I wasn't focused on religion.
As for wearing niqab in your own house/car, of course that'd be a possibility but in essence that has no meaning since well, you can do anything you want in your own house. For instance, swastikas are forbidden in Germany but one could have it printed inside their own homes. But that just doesn't mean anything.
Thank you, same to you. Stay safe as well. And correct, the second wave of covid-19 is far worse than the first wave. We have reached over 10,000 new infected people for three days in a row in this second wave but during the first wave we only had a couple of hundred at most.
The word "monsieur" comes from an old picard word "messer" who gave "my sir" then mister in english, and "mon sieur" then "monsieur" in french.
About french rap, I listen that sometimes, but even a French can't understand what they say. It's a mix of urban slang / arab words / reversed syllabs / french slang / old french terms. I prefer english rap, like almost anyone here, but english slang and cultural references are impossible to seize most of the times. It took me ages to understand what "helter skelter" meant.
About Islam, I knew several Whites who converted to it, or as Muslims say, "came back to Islam". The fact is that Muslims don't see this arrival of Whites with a good eye, but they can't refuse it to happen. So they are mitigated about Whites becoming Muslims. It's like something was stolen from them, like an identity theft. So it's true that europeans see islamic people as non-Whites, however, many muslims now are Whites and nobody notices them at all. As a christian myself, I also see that churches are establishing many contacts with mosques all over the country, they invite each other to discuss religious points. The irony is that such exchanges are well known among the Christians who go to Church, but the far-right leaders and followers are baptized but don't go to Church so they ignore it happens.
There's also another thing that confuses people even more : Christian Arabs. Most of them flee away from Iraq or Middle-East, and people don't know what to do about them because they're Arabs BUT they're Christians, and to their opinion, it's mathematically impossible, it doesn't fit in the little spaces they classify people into. Being White and Muslim, or Arab and Christian, are two things far-right can't really understand, and most of all, they don't see it. I sometimes enjoy to shock people by reciting the Shahada in Arab. I don't speak arab at all, but I learnt it by heart and sometimes I pronounce it just to see people reaction. I've learn't it from islamic Youtube channels and by educating myself about islamic religious practises.
You've shown a really interesting point about the French problem with islam : unlike Christianity, Muslims can't separate religious beliefs and acts from political acts. Islam is necessarly politic. If Islam became the majority, the laws would change because it's impossible to separate the laws from religion in Islam. Such a point of view is impossible to understand for most of the French ; they want an Islam who wouldn't be political, and that wouldn't change the laws. Such a thing is impossible, as you've mentionned, being Muslim is something that covers all the areas of society, and not only the private life of people. It shows that our laws are impossible to combine with Islam. It's a fact, with no solution.
Another good thing that you mention is that Islamic practises are by far more advanced, sophisticated and strict than the Christian ones. Christians pray in their own houses before dinner, or before going to bed, but there's no hour who defines when it's time to eat and when it's time to sleep. In Islam, there are extremely precise hours calculated day per day to pray. And the prayer itself is a very precise ritual. I have to admit that it fascinates me. It's extremely rich, complicated, and pious. I regret that 99% of the French don't understand or share my fascination. French just watch the TV and today, see a madman has beheaded two Christians in the Nice cathedral and killed a third one, and for those French, Islam is only this. They don't know Muhammad himself has totally forbidden to kill "People from the Book (the Bible)". Excepted if those from the book attack them first, but it's not the case nowadays. Killing people praying in a cathedral is by definition killing innocents, and according to the Quran, Allah's punishment for killing innocents is terrible.
So the French are now asking Muslim excuses for the killing. How could you excuse yourself about something you never wanted, always fought, and most of all, a thing you've no means to alert about because those who do it don't go to the mosques ? The French far-right doesn't understand this at all either and shout "Our churches are attacked !". There would always be madmen in societies, there's nothing one can do about it ; and be sure there are thousand other madmen like this planning to do it elsewhere as soon as possible. Even the catholic Church itself deny the far-right conclusions, because the times of Crusades is finished since 700 years and there's no religious world war declared between Christians and Muslims. There are only a few idiots thinking they will go in Paradise by killing innocents, and even if Allah is mercyful, He is much probably not enough mercyful to forgive killing innocents. But as Muslims say, "Allah knows it better", which means the ultimate fate of someone can't be declared 100% sure as the decisions is Allah's decision.
Foids do not appreciate Islam because they just want to stay free as they are today, and the sharia laws is the worst that could happen to their plan to take control of the men. Beyond the anti-Islamic movement, you'll find a shitload of feminists who would choose to trigger a World War III rather than accept Sharia Laws that would end the foids gag we see nowadays in France. What amuses me is that the Church doesn't speak about Sharia Laws, because in many ways, the Church also wants the foids gag to end. And this makes feminists to get crazy about the Church.
As I prophetized it yesterday, our president has announced a new lockdown. Less strict than the first one, as schools and companies will stay open. But the 200.000 bars and restaurants of France will close tonight, all non-vital commerces, all theatres and night clubs, and it's a tragedy for foids who will have to stay home instead of doing their immorale daily acts. The second wave will be catastrophic, even for the most advanced country in medical protection and funding. Tuesday we had 52.000 new infected and 550 deaths. Just in one day. It's not a wave, it's a tsunami.
