Moral of the story, you didn’t get rejected for being nice. Maybe you were boring, maybe you were a doormat, maybe she loves you as a friend but doesn’t feel a romantic connection, or maybe you’re just not her physical type.

And sometimes, even if all that stuff is there, the thing that sparks romantic interest (whatever the hell it is) simply isn’t. I have so many wonderful, nice men in my life whose platonic friendships I cherish but who I have no interest in dating or fucking. That’s just how attraction works.

You can be nice AND good looking (can we please, for the love of god, quit perpetuating the stereotype that average looking people are inherently good and kind, while conventionally attractive people are inherently mean and shitty)
