i think it was a game that was made around the same time as asteroids, although this game was like a space shooter arcadeish game where u had a spaceship and u were shooting shit that was coming towards you from above. it also had a level called independence day.

I tried playing Sonic Colors, but it was too difficult for me.

I played until about the third or fourth zone. It is a little overly mechanical. That's why Sonic people hate the modern stuff. It was fun to just run, jump, and actuate levers and knobs. Sonic & Knuckles was maybe the last real one. Sonic CD introduced some of the weird new mechanics.
