Planning on reworking the ranks

First, we're probably moving away from a rainbow type of progression.
Maybe we'll have a shift from one color to another over several ranks, I'm not sure. Need to see palettes.

Second, will probably cap the postcount ranks at 10k. It's a realistic endgame for users, it doesn't end arbitrarily at 30k, and it doesn't force awkward gifs for ranks since we're out of colors.

And finally, maybe we'll have other special ranks on top that we can give away under special circumstances. It's just an idea for now, but maybe for making exceptional threads, for example.

Any suggestions are welcome, it'll take me a while to figure out everything.

The idea of capping the ranks and handing out special rewards will be great for the community. Less motivation to Postmaxx and more motivation to make high quality threads.

If possible something like rewards or badges would also be very cool to see. Like a rewards when you hit a certain amount of quotes, when you get pinned/make a good thread, etc.

you can still postmaxx and make good threads in at the same time, you can do both and postmaxxing doesn't detract from making good replies and threads, but getting rid of postmaxxing will just leave a bunch of tryharding idiots trying to sound smart to get a rank which will probably be given under stupid or arbitrarily set criteria.
people dont have good ideas all the time, so they postmaxx instead until they have good ideas for threads.
any such changes wont give better threads but only less postmaxxers

I don’t know how to feel about this. Would be pretty brutal for 30k+ postmaxxers to have their special rank taken away. Would have been all for nothing. Other than that I like the idea of special ranks.

I like the ranks that are colorful. So far Admiral and the Top 3 ranks are the only ranks worth striving for. If you are making new ranks then maybe some for confirmed true cels/etc. idk. Just please keep animated usernames
