Telling suicidal people to call the Suicide Prevention Hotline is insulting

It implies that their problems aren't real. If a person's problems can be fixed by a call to the Suicide Prevention Hotline, that person's problems are not real problems - they are mental health problems.

A person is terminally ill with pancreatic cancer and has one month to live. He is considering suicide, in order to avoid the agony that lies in the month ahead of him. Would a reasonable person tell him to call the suicide prevention hotline? No, because this person has serious problems, problems that aren't just in his head, problems that make the remainder of his life not worth living. Suicide makes sense for him.

To tell someone to call the Suicide Hotline is to tell them their problems are not external but internal, an can be fixed with a change in mindset. It is not always the case that a suicidal person's problems are internal. When the problems are external, the best way to prevent a suicide is not "therapy", but for the community to fix those problems that are external to the person. This is more effective and treats the root cause as opposed to trying to get the person to internally compensate for external problems.

Our communities don't give a shit about us, they're certainly not going to fix our actual problems, foids matter more than we do in the eyes of society.

Just talk to some stranger who can’t relate to you br0

Suicide prevention hotlines are not that useless, tbh. Obviously, they don't help long-term, but a quick chat followed by a few drinks means I get slightly better sleep.

YMMV.

The one time my mother forced me to call them the woman on the phone calmed me down. So I don't find it all bad.

Just report yourself to the mental hospital br0.

In my case I got taken to the hospital by police, they held me for 2 weeks, JFL.

Thank you kind stranger! We could use more good samaritans like yourself. :y'all:

I feel like no one gives a shit about you other than your own family. The real reason why they would rather not see you die is so that they don’t have to ruin their day seeing a dead body, and to have someone paying taxes like a good little wageslave.

I called that line like 6 times, it was always just some lame foid with scripted responses.

Starting to think the rumors about you being a bot are true
I called that line like 6 times, it was always just some lame foid with scripted responses.
Yes. It's pure masturbation. Most of the volunteers don't even make an effort to not sound like they're about to go on their coffee break.

our only problem is our face and there is no hotline for your face

Its a meme tbh, no one takes it seriously.

You expected human emotions like empathy from a bunch of consumerist NPC bots?

there is nothing wrong with committing suicide

It's shit. They just use scripted responses like "watch your favorite movie," "take a walk," "eat your favorite food." If they think you are close to roping, then they will call the ambulance at your location. Then, if you don't have medical insurance, you're fucked and leave with a large medical bill, leaving you in a worse situation, JFL.

not gonna listen to some monotonous cunt tbh

Is that true? Kek.

High IQ post, OP.
Pretending your problems aren't real is what sends people mad, when they don't know if what they're experiencing is real, and the frustration from having no one REALLY listen to you is deadly.
Fuck all of them for saying a shitty life is no cause for real concern.

((They)) dont give a fuck, they need tax dollars and wageslaves

She shot herself in the face because her chad bf broke up with her, clearly some problems aren't real or worth killing yourself over, and some people are just retarded.
