Its seen as mutually beneficial settling based on what you can get to get enjoyment yet a series on one uping especially if at the bottom of the hierarchy. All your thoughts, actions etc are judged by the group and getting toilet will become fierce competition. Friendships cannot help with the obtaining of such vile creatures for it is bones that strikes the sub 8 law out of whack.
