Maybe the proliferation of deepfakes could cause their own discredit i.e. people could get used to them popping up everywhere and (deludedly) start saying "Nah, that's a deepfake. [Insert name of female politician] wouldn't act like that irl." Maybe the psychic transference you talk about isn't that evident.

And we are forgetting that deepfakes can be done with male candidates behaving as if they were homosexual (but I think this wouldn't be credible most of the times).
