I've been there for work-related reasons (Ohio, PA & Texas) and I can say that there are two identifiable USA's. One is cosmopolitan-liberal/socialist and it's mostly found in urban cities, where a lot of race mixing takes places. This is where I found a lot of gays, trannies & other social deviants. The nordic strain is almost non-existant and instead we find el goblino-kind of whites that wouldn't be considered whites in Western Europe.

Then there's the rednecks america, mostly rural but also with industrial outlets. The nordic-germanic strain is visible and there's no sign of social & cultural degeneration. It's also very racist because I didn't feel I was welcomed. But in a subtle-tribalist kind of way. If you behave in a decent manner you won't have any problems.
