I think the format of this board is not really suited to support meme posts. But I miss them too.

Single meme posts (even high quality ones) will get lost pretty fast and disappear into oblivion without an upvote/downvote system.

You think that the lack of a separate board is what is stopping people from making memes? Doesn't make much sense considering reddit didn't have a separate board for it. If meme creators only cared about popularity then they were just self-serving, however I don't think this is the case since I have yet to see one signed by anyone. I think that we just don't have many meme creators on this forum, period.

WIth the memes that already got posted, I guess I can see the argument that upvotes make memes more prominent, but if people don't care enough to drop a small comment and push the meme back to the top, is the meme truly worthy? I think not. Let's not forget that upvotes bring with them a slew of other issues.
