This is the list of my top 10 favorite movies :
10. Ravenous :
This is movie is basically about a sick American colonel from the 19th century who had tuberculosis, on his way to the sanatorium without a doubt to die. A indian scout told him an indian myth called Windigo. Windigo is a man who eats the flesh of another man and by doing so he acquires his physical and mental strength so this colonel killed the indian scout and ate him and after discovering that the myth is true. He will head to a remote military post in California where he'll try to eat all the soldiers...
9 - The Survivalist :
This movie is telling the story of a guy who lived alone in a cabin in the midst of the woods after the colapse of modern civilization. He succeed to stay alive for a long period of time but when one day two foids came to his cabin and ask him for help the problems began
8 - Black Death :
In the middle of the 14th century during the Great Plague, Ulric (Sean Bean) and his companions accompanied by a young monk will go to a remote village where a witch lives. This witch has convinced the inhabitants of this village to cast God aside and become pagans because the Plague is a christian disease sent to punish Christians and by renouncing Jesus Christ the plague won't kill them. I'll stop here I don't want to spoil anything.
7 - Beowulf and Grendel :
This movie is inspired from the oldest known English poem written during the Early Middle Ages. It's about a Hero (Beowulf) who came to the land of the Danes to slay the killers of the Danes, the troll Grendel. The customs, the buildings are not fictional like the Vikings serie. The soundtracks are great too so if you're fond of Ancient Germanic culture this movie is for you.
6 - The 13th Warrior :
Ahmad ibn Fadlan, an Arab poet who was sent by the Caliph as an ambassador to the lands of the Viking Russ. The King of this Russ Viking setlement is attacked by a tribe of primitive people who live in mountains so they must return to Scandinavia to help their king; an oracle told them to bring a foreigner with them if they want to win so they bring the Arab poet. A very underrated movie tbh
5 - Interview with the Vampire :
This movie is about a vampire named Louis who wanted to re-establish contact with humans after two hundred years of vampire life. This movie is a masterpiece.
4 - The Last Samurai :
A former US soldier (Tom Cruise) is sent to Japan to train the Imperial Infantry so as to put down the Samurai Rebellion. After showing great bravery and fierceness in an ambush (I don't remember if it was a battle or an ambush tbh) the Samurai leader decided to spare his life and took him to his stronghold. The American soldier decided to join the Samurai forces and by following his tactics the Samurai will suprisingly defeate the Imperial army in a few occasions before the inevitable but heroic end of the last Samurais.
I think there is no need to talk about the top 3 movies. If you don't know them you are either a time-traveller (coming from the past) or living in a cave.
3 - Troy :
2 - Gladiator :
1 - The Lord of the Rings :
