When someone takes a photo of me i feel like im a monster until i zoom in

When i take pictures of myself i look fine
When i record myself in video i look pretty good
When someone takes a photo of me i look like a horrid monster, but when i zoom in said picture and scrutinize my face, i see no big flaws.

Does someone else have this problem too?
Why does this happen?

when someone takes a photo of you the camera is flipped - therefore all your facial flaws are more apparent as you're not used to seeing yourself like this
