Why am I rotting to get my master's and work in Uni when I could make so much more doing truck driving?

Granted driving local deliveries isn't easy, and my parents would be disappointed in me forever, but man that's tempting.

It burns quite a bit, you are never at home and honestly you can eat them from the truck, well..., they leave a lot to be desired.

I don't know where TS is but there can't be many places that will let you work 70 hours a week. Lorry and bus drivers for obvious reasons are restricted in how many hours they're allowed to work per week (and the amount of driving is less than the amount of work). However you have periods of time where you're not working but you're also not at home free to see your friends and family (probably doesn't apply to people on this forum) and do what you want.

Also if you are prepared to take the time and effort, and if your employer allows, the range of cooking equipment for lorries is quite good. Sometimes gas stoves are banned in particular.

When I made that post I did actually wonder if it was the USA lol. Definitely well on the way to going Third World. I remember hearing about illegal immigrant Mexican drivers in the USA, where two would take one cab and one would eat/sleep while the other drove, (so the lorry was continuously or near continuously moving), and they would open a hole in the bottom of the cab to just go to the toilet on the road (whether driving or stationary). Idk how true that is though.

Federal vs State wage requirements are different. Also most OTR truckers get paid by the mile.
