I've played only WH 40K (Tyranids, low tier, I know) and Warmachine (Convergence of Cyriss).

Wanted to start warhammer40k back in the day but I got no $$$$$

Similar situation here. I played a lot of tabletop games. The only one that I ever collected and painted was battletech (anyone remember that one?). I got to play some 40k using other people's armies and I think I would actually prefer it because the rules make it a much faster paced game. But the cost seemed really high.

Fast forward a decade or so, you can buy 3d printers at walmart now. I'm wondering if the serious players invest in a printer and eventually that pays for itself because you no longer give games workshop your money.
