Basically, after Israel and the CIA carried out the events of September 11th 2001. White youth in the United States were reaching their peak, because their baby boomer parents were spending money like the way water flows.

So, the bratty rich white youth, usually from the suburbs, moved from punk rock bands like Green Day, and went to an even darker genre of rebel outcast rock - emo.

Goth - is a fascination with morbid European culture, death, and witchcraft. Goth is much older than emo. Goth is a pathetic scene right now, everyone is fat and old.

It wasn’t uncommon amongst Hispanics. For like blacks, East Asians, etc yea but I’ve seen some more female than male though obviously.

The entire emo thing was extremely famous in mexico back in the early 2000s specially 2007. I remember they even organized a fight with another subculture or smth i was still a kid
