Do you think that someone who grew up in poverty and hungry as a child, and manage to escape poverty and earn enough to comfortably sustain himself, do you think that person would be more sympathetic or generous to poorer people considering that he went through their same struggles?
I feel like most people who are born rich and never faced hardships are envied by poor people and thus they might feel guilt that they never went through what poor people are going through and missing out on the hardships that build character and sympathy.
