I havent tried it but I will once I learn how to drive and get a car. Its seems like the only logical way to find friends other than work.

I go to IRL videogame tournaments and it's super easy to meet people + talk to them because you share a common interest and you're both guaranteed to be at least somewhat nerdy because you're at a videogame tournament. This means that if the conversation gets awkward or stupid, you can always just bring the attention back onto the game.
