I actually think people are nicer and more desperate for friendship as adults

since it’s so hard to meet people who are your peers past college

I indeed have seen it happen in real life, it was at the park.
I probably don't have to mention that it was a tall, tanned, goodlooking guy.
He said "Hi, I saw you and thought you were really cute" and she giggled and responded very positively.
It doesn't matter what you say or what's your mental state, girls will respond solely based on your looks, nothing else.
