Bioshock 2: Merciful versus Punitive justice

Gears of War trilogy: Depictions of the brutality of war; tough, masculine soldiers who get the feels; and justification of violence

Spec Ops The Line: Sympathetic depiction of PTSD, military interventionism

Thoughts? Any games I didn't mention that had strong narratives?
 
I fucking loved gears of war but was never able to play it because the fucking crack just wouldn't work and I could only go a few missions before it crashing and never starting again. I spent a great amount of time and brain cells trying to get it to work but in the end I had to give up.

One of my greatest defeats in life.

I never got far enough in this to understand the meta, I played Bloodlines on the PSP and it barely hinted at the OOU stuff

All these games used to be in my bucket list.
 
Bioshock 2 was my favorite game of all time
 
Bioshock 1 was just as good

Yea the alpha series big daddy protagonists were definitely my favorite from the series. They had no personality and were these mysterious powerful creatures you could take control of

I don't think many early zoomer/late millennial kids were interested in games like Bioshock or Spec Ops the line tbh. They prefer popular games like GTA, COD or the popular sports game (FIFA or Madden depending on where you live). If by kids you also include young teens (12 and 13yo?) then maybe yes.
