Before ER virgins were universally understood to just be something you laugh at and look down on and no one would ever consider taking "virgins" as a demographic seriously in any context. By being the first to commit an act of political violence explicitly motivated by his virginity status and loneliness, accompanied by his widely proliferated manifesto that described his worldview in depth, he completely changed the narrative and made lonely men a recognized sociopolitical faction with space at the negotiating table
This is what made literally all pro-male discourse since 2014 possible, even redpilled/bluepilled variants of it. Nobody would have ever talked about "the male loneliness epidemic" or even been willing to recognize or engage with such an idea if not for Elliot Rodger. In this sense Isla Vista was undoubtedly the single greatest victory for disaffected men of our time
