Ya progress is progress. And assuming their objective is to make it to the Donbas borders they are working their way there even if it is like 1km a day.
Russia is shifting back at home to gearing up for a long war. They are finding ways of redefining things so they can get more reserves called up, they are putting real money on the line to recruit more soldiers. They are shifting more economic resources to defense production.
Both sides now know a lot about which types of battalions and which type of military equipment is really effective in this war. So they can sign contracts with defense manufacturers for more of the stuff they need most.
The Russians need a lot more infantry but it has been hard to recruit for that. But advertisements posted online in poor areas of Russia which is a lot of the country outside of Moscow, they are paying like $4,000 USD a month for soldiers. Which is 10 times the local salary levels. That is what you have to do, and its not that bad $50,000 a year. The Russians have a big problem with their soldiers when their contract is up, they don't want to resign unless at minimum they get a gigantic pay raise.
