As a guy who suffers from the driver's license pill, i must admit that having a car can be a good cope, ill elaborate:
Instead of rotting in your room all day long and being in pain due to isolation a car can offer you the opportunity to leave the house and go somewhere, whether it's to enjoy the scenery or going to eat somewhere or just driving late, at night when the streets are mostly empty and calm HELL i would take that cope anyday than to just LDAR in pain like this, the only downside of it is that it will cost you some money especially if you go out a lot. Having a car would help decrease my stress and pain level of which video games no longer can..
Maybe even get a fair chance to ascend who knows?

Having a car is kind of a brag in the Netherlands if it's a BMW / Audi etc. But it's an inconvenience here since public transport is generally faster since they are above cars in traffic rules (The trams. Don't take the train unless you want a Tokyo Train experience. )

Depending where you live having a car (and a licence) is a massive quality of life improvement. In a city, it doesn't matter nobody drives. But in small towns or the countryside, you NEED a car otherwise you have to catch the one bus a day and sit with moldy disgusting old people.

In an age where women demand perfection in every aspect, not having a car is like being 5'5.

Having a car is a big liability and money sink. Not worth it. You may think you may want to go somewhere but food places are packed with people and you hit traffic and bad roads. Also one scratch on your car and you are looking at hundreds to repair it unless you don't care but then you have a public appearance of a slob.

Public transport isnt that shitty in many countries as it is in the US. Many small towns here in germany have a train station or at least frequent bus service.
