According to redditors, what caused the situation in Venezuela is "dictatorship", and not price controls, government meddling in the supply chain, money printing, or other attacks on the free market. Never mind that most dictatorships in history never experienced such market dysfunctions... And all socialist countries experienced them regardless of their political system. The poor guys who point it out are immediately downvoted to oblivion.

Pure folly. I'm not even against communism by the way (I favor a technological utopia with elements of communism), just shocked by so much bad faith and hypocrisy.

I never liked communist dudebros, from an early age. Looking back on it, it was because I had the intuition that in a world without money, human hierarchies would not disappear but become centered on physical beauty and charisma - and I would stand to lose a lot in this transition. That economics align with anticommunism was merely a later coincidence.

There was a political leftist party (PODEMOS) that could have won the elections until they allied with communists (IZQUIERDA UNIDA) and everyone stop taking them seriously. Anyway, most young people are extreme leftists in spain, so its just a matter of time that some of those absurd parties win any elections in the future when the old rightist people here die.
