As a man even getting respect is something that needs to be earned. You have to be somewhat tall, somewhat good looking, somewhat muscular, NT to the max, not needy, serious, smart but without being nerdy, not too emotional, self-reliant, not be poor etc. etc.. and then MAYBE you will get respected by most people, but even then people will still test you and try to fuck with you ocassionally. Not to mention that you can quickly lose it by circumstances outside your control.
