Dr Nicholas Christakis, perhaps known to most online as the guy yelled at in the Yale Halloween SJW outrage, claims the post pandemic 2020s will be one of wild partying, promiscuity and liberal spending. He bases his predictions on study of societal responses to previous pandemics and their aftermaths.

Interesting side-effect will be increasing sexual and economic inequality leading to further radicalisation, in both normie and very-online politics (radicalising leftoids and rightoids) but also in rising rates of ever more painful inceldom. Both the quality and the quantity of the state of inceldom will likely increase (someone should come up with a proxy or measure for this).

Imagine living in one seemingly big orgy society, as city centers and night clubs bustle like never before... normie media will not stop reporting this, celebrating this... while you as an incel being totally left out.

My prediction based on Christakis' prediction is that we'll see rising rates of young male suicide and also more (intense) Elliot Rodgers in the 2020s.

I always had a 'hunch' that the 20s decade in our lives will be similar to the 20s decade in the prior century. That being it will be like our version of The Great Gatsby, among many other things. I thought about this long before the pandemic and now that we are arguably in the waning period of it, I am starting to see the trigger for this period. There are so many similarities that are so interesting. The 1920s had the initial wave of modern feminisim. We currently are having our wave of feminism also. Many progressive socio-cultural ideas were being brought about in the 1920s and it is so today, a good example of this is the LGBTQ+ ideals (cyberpunk could be grouped in this too)

In many ways, I think the 'milestones' or socio-cultural movements/eras of the 20th century will be repeated in the 21st century. The era that followed the roaring 20s was an era of depression and war, all of which could be very possible by 2030.

Those who fail to know history are doomed to repeat it.

Nah, ain't gonna happen. After WWI all of Europe was full of battle hardened, bitter veterans who had experienced brutal trench warfare. That caused a lot of turbulence, these days we only have LARPers. Proud Boys and Antifa throwing rocks at each other and engaging in stick fights. Armed MAGAtards won't even consider using their AR-15s on their enemy. Compare that to this: during the height of the political unrest in Germany in the Interbellum, at least one person would die every day in Berlin alone due to political violence in the streets.

Our situation is just different.

I feel like the 2010s were our century's roaring 20s. Major technological advancement via the internet/tinder leads to chads/foids having more sex than ever before/social media. Elites like Bill gates have already indicated that they want people to stay inside until 2022. I think the future will be more bleak for normies especially if china starts to compete with the US to become the reserve currency. Also keep in mind that when the pandemic started we reached similar levels of poverty as the great depression in some metrics.

Well, I did not mean that the events in the 1900s will happen exactly in the 2000s, but that that we will have events that are quite similar in occurrence and later effects.

Although we did not have a 'brutal' war that is like WWI, we did have an event that caused quite similar effects which is the current COVID-19 pandemic. This virus is reshaping global politics, maybe not in the extreme like destroying past monarchies in WWI but still. My main point is that the reason for the Roaring 20s was the fact that the world just came out of a global conflict, a war, something that was not seen for quite some time (somebody could argue that it was never seen before). This caused a shift towards progressive thinking and actions. Our version of a global conflict is this pandemic. It makes sense that we will have an increase in indulgences and impulses following a period where most people were trapped home by authority and fear.

Additionally, WWI does not have the crucial placeholder in history that WWII has. Sure WWI had its lasting effects, but the effects of WWII are a lot larger and longer-lasting. I mean if WWI was so significant or 'brutal', then there would not be a second world war so shortly thereafter. The first world war could be swept under a rug in history, but we can not do the same for the second world war. I think the same can be said for our century. Our version of WWI could be in another form, such as COVID-19, but our version of WWII could only be (world) war or something extremely close to it. Otherwise, as you said, my predictions are essentially null and void.
