Remember Nicholas Kristof's article in the New York Times about an underage foid whose nudes were leaked onto Pornhub? OK, maybe not. But my fellow coomers might have noticed the purge of videos on Pornhub roughly a month ago. That was because it was under a great deal of public pressure to moderate its content.
See this thread for a lengthier account:
Anyhow, soon after the NYTimes article, GOP Sen. Josh Hawley introduced a bill that would tightly regulate online pornography (and probably make porn more expensive) and punish porn industry executives and anyone who uploaded pics/vids of foids without their consent. His simping was gaining momentum. Well, it was introduced at the end of the previous Congress and so therefore expired, but he could have simply re-introduced it in this Congress.
Now that plan is dead in the water. After Hawley's antics surrounding the counting of the electoral votes, he is effectively an outcast. No point in making a public show out of being "tough on big tech" now that his 2024 POTUS dreams are over. His corporate donors are gone, his Senate colleagues are pretty much ostracizing him, and punishing Pornhub is way, way down on the agenda with an impeachment trial looming.
Great that Mindgeek is out of the public spotlight. If only they would stop blocking those videos.
