What I liked the most about the era was the fact it was at the tail-end of the analog age.
Along with early computers, the World Wide Web, BBS boards, dial-up, video games and synth music.
You had VHS and 8mm tapes, cassettes, CRT televisions, film photography, cel animated cartoons and anime.
House music, UK garage, Eurodance, Italo disco, old school and golden age hip-hop, jungle, drum & bass, punk rock, chiptune, synthpop.
Because there was no smartphone or social media back then, people actually went out and still had real world adventures and experiences. It was more fun and lively, a good combination of technology that was both modern but not to the point that we got too absorbed into them.
Imagine getting a nissan skyline or Toyota supra and just cruising fast in the Tokyo streets in the 90s
