As a Easterner, I can't wrap around the idea of "civic nationalism" the idea that different groups work towards a common state that is made of vastly different people with different values, and different "capabilities".

Also being binded by civic nationalism you are focusing on practical manifestation, the community&state. You can dignify it and make it a value.

My speculation is based on observation of different countries. Most successful countries in the world , that is, based on GDP per capita, were "pure" or at least live among segregation or live mostly with foreigners from the same continent.

On the contrary, well established mixed countries, such as Brazil and Mexico are almost always failures. There are other mixed countries that are moderately successful, but they are mixed with the same racial classification.

For example, I can say that the Balkan area, is fairly mixed, but they have been mixtures of Caucasoid races, therefore more compatible (this isn't to say all Caucasoid races are compatible). They don't have the violence that Mexico and Brazil have on a daily basis.
