Just want to see what some of you guys have.

Mine is a Lenovo Thinkpad T420, running Linux Ubuntu 16.04.

lenovo ideapad 520 want to build a gaming pc i have an old one but gave it to my sister it was i5-4690k, gtx 960,

Sony VAIO VPCSE2X i5 2.5 ghz, 8 GB, AMD 2460M GPU, 160 GB SSD

ryzen 1500x, gtx1060, 12GB ram, 100 GB SSD, 500GB HDD + 10 year old laptop

I don't wanna talk about it...

I built this back in 2012/2013 except for the graphics card

Xeon 1230v2 (better cost/performance than core series at the time)
Supermicro X9SAE-V
8GB DDR3 1333Mhz non-ECC unbuffered RAM
AMD RX460
80GB SSD and 5TB of storage (ext4 and dm-crypt/LUKS)

Biggest mistake was I didn't buy hardware capable of GPU passthrough, with proper IOMMU groups. Basically this means Intel's HEDT motherboards and processors, there's nothing else with good IOMMU groups.

Currently this means x299 chipset motherboards and LGA 2066 socket processors right now.

Mobo manufacturers don't even tell you what the IOMMU groups look like, you can only know if someone buys the motherboard and uploads a review that shows the IOMMU groupings (almost no one does this)

This is one of the only guys who do this.

I want this because I want to be able to run Linux with a Windows VM with GPU/USB passthrough.
