"You can't 'invade' /b/. You can't 'invade' 4chan. It's like pissing into an ocean of piss." You've probably heard the quote. Here's something from a November 2015 attempt by Tumblr to raid 4chan.
Imagine that. 4chan becoming a place for "feminism LGBTQ+ rights and fandom crap" was so unthinkable in late 2015. So the turn must've been some time after that, right? There's an old XKCD comic about raiding 4chan with Twilight stuff, I could find the date of that comic but I hate XKCD so I won't. My point is, 4chan must've turned whenever we stopped hearing "let's flood 4chan with lefty legbeard sentiment." Because eventually that's the very thing even the normies came to know 4chan for.
So when was this? And why did it happen? Did all of the old guard move to /pol/ instead? Or did they die of old age? Did the generation simply fade away?
