The gold-based currency is alright but just like the IRL Romans the Legion would have to deal with liquidity problems if they somehow end up lacking the metals needed to create more currency. The only option besides adapting a fiat currency like the NCR would be debasing the Legion money with less precious metals, but that would devalue them and possibly cause problems
NCR when i was blue-redpilled, Legion when i'm blackpilled. I wouldn't be killing random men only Chads, while foids will be enslaved and used as our onaholes, and if they misbehave then brutally raped with no merce by entire legion and then beaten if they do it again then they will get killed and their bodies will be penetrated one last time by a huge spear.
They could easily fix it through creating more metal based currencies while gold would be on the top as the most valuable.
That wouldn't fix the issue of the limited amount of gold in the post-war USA. The need to debase their gold and silver coins will still exist and create inflation, which would simply erode the value of any lesser, more common metal coins
