Disclaimed: I've never attended therapy myself or been prescribed any anti-depressant medication. But I see a lot of incels write about how therapy is useless and how meds don't work or sometimes even make things worse. There might be a more insidious reason for this.
I took a psych class in undergrad once that focused entirely on depression. It was an upper-level seminar class so we would spend the class discussing literature that related to depression, its etiology and treatment. A lot of times in psychology the concern is that conclusions drawn from research don't have 'validity' because the studies are done on a very restricted sample of the population (ex: a study that only looks at healthy college-aged volunteers might not be generalizable to a population that's older or is uneducated, for example).
I don't remember jack shit from that class except one thing: most of the studies primarily studied privileged (upper middle class) white teenage girls. I'm not even kidding. Depression, as we classify it and treat it, is a disease of JB foids. No wonder the treatment doesn't work for people with actual mental illness, such as incels.
