I've been fired for a week now and realize NEETdom is much better, even though I have to scale back on my purchasing these days. (To be frankly, it's not that i spend much even when I was wageslaving).
I live an minimalist lifestyle, really don't eat out much, and I don't give a damn about the new phones/PC parts. My 1080TI is enough to handle any games I come across (I don't play new games at all lol); My home is also a "warehouse" in sense that I have shit tons of "spare parts" sitting there so if my phone breaks/parts break they're easily replaced with no need to buy new shit.
To summon it up:
Waking up early
NEET: Optional
Wagie: Required
Transportation/road rage
NEET: Optional
Wagie: Required
Dealing with idiots
NEET: Optional (Actually, I'll put it as required considering there are lots of...geniuses on this site)
Wagie: Required
Money
NEET: Cut back on eating out/no new gadgets
Wagie: Same as NEET unless if you work as a job like dev
Social life
NEET: As social as you want
Wagie: Restricted to weekends (what irony LOL)
I'll be honest; I'm not looking for any work, because I don't want to work at all. I'm living off my family's welfare and there's nothing wrong with that. What I am waiting for, is to wait for job opportunities that the company sends me (I work via a recruitment-contract company); So far, they have sent me one job opportunity but it didn't match my skill set at all (java) so meeeh.
There's no telling how long that will last and if they will send me more jobs at all, but then again, meeeeeh. I'll relax for about 3 or more months before I become more active. The only problem is that it will look weird on my resume if I take too long break.
Going to work, especially when it takes a hour to communal, is so shitty. You run into risks of road rage/fights (if you take the wagie cagie transportation), it's annoying, you have to wake early, and the constant waiting at work is nightmarish (minute after minute), you have to deal with idiots and my social anxiety was SO bad that i didn't wanted to interact with my co workers much.
