The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating an aggression against a 17-year-old minor who was attacked in a group on January 3, at five o'clock in the afternoon, in the Can Batlló park in Barcelona. The young man was beaten by other minors, who recorded him and stole his cell phone. The Catalan police have arrested two of them, who showed up at the police station today after having their images viralized, investigating one more and looking for two other participants.
In the images, you can see the minor who arrives in the area and is surrounded by a group of young people, who punch him, kick him, throw him to the ground and slap him until he manages to escape running, trying to put on the sweater that they also take off during the attack. "That's it", you can hear the child scream as he runs away.
After the dissemination of the images and information that the victim suffers from autism, something that sources in the know deny although he does have learning difficulties, a wave of solidarity has been organized in the social networks, and in parallel, a campaign against the aggressors, who have ended up being identified by the Internet users. The victim has made public a video where she has thanked for the support received.
The young woman, who is accused of acting as bait to lead the child to her attackers, explained that the origin of the aggression is an alleged conflict between her and the victim. The young woman said that the minor had touched her ass, which her friends used as a pretext to beat her up, videotape her and steal her cell phone. The Mossos, acting under the orders of the Prosecutor's Office for Minors, are looking for two of the most active youths in the assault.
Associations in defense of the rights of autistic persons have condemned the assault. And even the President of the Government, Pedro Sanchez, in response to one of these messages on Twitter, has shown his support for the minor. "As a father and as a citizen, I am outraged and hurt by events like this. Our sons and daughters deserve that we take care of them and denounce this vileness," he has written on the social network.
