It was very cut-and-dry. I appreciate the lawyering people have done for him (despite all of the things he has said on the sister site which was counter-productive to the cause at best), but it can't get more clear than it was.
I do agree with your latter part, though. A lack of objectivity makes people overestimate the value of their contributions, I think it happens to all of us once in a while to some extent.

I see. Tbh @Leucosticte is currently my favorite user. He was kinda good-looking before the Norwood reaper finished the job but now he's old an bald, plus divorceraped and he probably has some kind of condition mentally as well (which didn't affect his very high IQ).
I can identify with him because I also lost a lot of points with age, primarily due to balding. While I didn't ascend back in my better days, I think it could have happened, who knows. Now it definitely won't happen in any remotely satisfactory way.
As for Zyros, I like his anti-nature stuff, dislike plenty of other stuff such as his aggressiveness towards other users for any minimal discordance + he being against patriarchy (which I personally consider a cucked position - well, maybe not so much if you're a Chad who benefits from the current system, lol) but that last humblebrag post + selfie was very off-putting indeed. Especially seeing Zesto being perma'd at the same time.

It is a curious trend. I understand the staff themselves are comprised of multiple races. And of course, they are human.
Although free expression can understandably lack viability in certain contexts, particularly given very real world political dynamics that cannot be isolated from the workings of the site and community....hopefully a day doesn't come where political whim overcomes reasonably unbiased assessment.
