You have your generic wagie job in which you come to office for five or six days a week, working from 9 to 6, with the company paying you and 'benefits' including dental, injury insurance, holidays and so on...
You report to the office, get your coffee, respond to some annoying users' request, fix some bugs and the rest of the day you are browsing reddit.
That does seem like a sustainable system for employment. After all, while 996 (or similar) is stressful and unnatural, it is stable and keeps food on the table, even enabling men to become the breadwinner for their family, ensuring constant income.
This is the concept of bullshit jobs.

Unfortunately, the bosses seemed to be catching up this model, and launched what they call a "gig economy". Essentially, instead of having stable employment and income, you are hired to work short term with no benefits. No one know when the project will complete and the rest of the team will be fired tomorrow...
The website Expert360 attributed the following 'benefits' to a gig economy, of which none benefit the average worker.
All I can say is, neoliberalism is rearing its ugly head. Gig economy, mass immigration, globalization, AI automation. All of which are BAD news. People think I'm a commie, but a lot of cucked things are from the pursuit of profit over anything else. Mass migration is tied to globalized capitalism because hiring a 1$ slave from India or Africa is cheaper than hiring local.

More than half of societal work is pointless, both large parts of some jobs and five types of entirely pointless jobs: Flunkies, who serve to make their superiors feel important, e.g., receptionists, administrative assistants, door attendants, store greeters; Goons, who act to harm or deceive others on behalf of their employer, or to prevent other goons from doing so, e.g., lobbyists, corporate lawyers, telemarketers, public relations specialists; Duct tapers, who temporarily fix problems that could be fixed permanently, e.g., programmers repairing shoddy code, airline desk staff who calm passengers whose bags do not arrive; Box tickers, who create the appearance that something useful is being done when it is not, e.g., survey administrators, in-house magazine journalists, corporate compliance officers; Taskmasters, who create extra work for those who do not need it, e.g., middle management, leadership professionals.[3][2]
